If there's one thing that I hoard most when it comes to makeup it's my mascaras. I can't help it; to me a great mascara can make or break a makeup look and when I find a fave, I really hate parting with it. I think it's safe to say that right now I probably have around 5 old, dried-up mascaras lying in my makeup drawer that I can't even use, but they're just so amazing, I don't want to part with them. It's weird to admit actually and even typing this makes me sound like an absolute crazy lady, but I like to think to myself that it's a reminder to repurchase it. The thing is, I very rarely get round to repurchasing because I'm always trying out new mascaras. The newest to my collection this time around is the new Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara, which is definitely very different from anything that I've tried before and again has become one of my new favourites very quickly.
For a girl that loves mascaras as much as I, it can't be too much of a surprise when I say I know what I like in a mascara and I very rarely stray from that. I like volume and I like length and most of all, I like my lashes looking natural and clump-free. Many mascaras that are available on the high street at the moment are all trying to achieve the same thing, that 'false lash look' that everyone seems to be striving for, but honestly, there's a reason I don't tend to wear false lashes - they're just too fake. I am all about natural beauty and just enhancing what's already there and this mascara for me, does just that. Not to mention that 'false lash look' often comes with a formulation that leaves my lashes clumped in really unflattering ways - definitely NOT something I want.
The volume this mascara gives is absolutely beautiful, it's a kind of understated volume that isn't so in your face that people can tell you have product on. It's a lovely formula that enhances the lashes without over-dramacising their appearance too much giving them a natural look (that I so desperately strive for in my mascaras). And the beauty of it all, is that it's clump-free and so far, has been every time that I've used it.
The Volume Shake Mascara from Rimmel is a new found favourite of mine and one that I'm hoping to have in my collection for quite some time. With the new patented shaker technology this mascara is just like new with just a couple of shakes. Unlike other mascaras that can dry out and clump up quickly, this mascara (with the help of the new technology) can be re-freshed every now and again when needed, by simply shaking the bottle a few times. It gives the formula the boost that it needs, ready for a fresh coat to be applied to your lashes; just like popping out and buying a new one, only less expensive - cheers Rimmel!
