Event | Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Launch

Being a mahoosive fan of Benefit cosmetics means that I have been longing for this product launch for far too long now. I've been absolutely in love with their 'They're Real Mascara' for as long as I can remember and these two new additions to the 'They're real' family could not have come around at a more perfect time.  I spent Friday evening at Boots in Broadmead, Bristol, at a launch event for the two new beauties!

I had a great time, learning about the two newest products and perfecting my makeup look! The They're Real Push Up Liner really is a great addition to the range and steps into a whole world of its own in the eye liner market. The amazing twist-up release of this product makes carrying it around with you all the easier too. With no fuss and no smudge - and most importantly no brushes or sharpeners to deal with - this new liner really makes a stand for 'criminally easy' liner application. Even me, a complete fail at all things liquid liner related, found this incredibly easy to work with. It'll take some time for me to perfect my cat-eye flick, but with this liner, I can tell it won't be long!

This liner combines all of the best bits from all previous liners before and gets rid of all of the bad ones. Designed for ease and a perfect narrow line, this liner has it all! One of the best qualities, I find, is the longevity of the product. It really does not budge! Even when purposefully trying my best to smudge it and make a mess, my perfect line and flick stuck in place without the tiniest hint of movement. Now, that is impressive! However, is this product too hard to get rid of?

Enter, 'They're Real Remover', the third They're Real product (launched at the same time as the liner) and my new best friend! This remover does the ultimate job of budging all other They're Real products, a job that most eye makeup removers struggle to do. I think it's such a clever branding move from Benefit to reveal a remover at the same time as the hard-to-budge liner, it definitely makes removing both the liner and mascara so much easier and is so gentle on the eyes as well. Being gentle with my eyes is something I take very seriously and so this product was also purchased!

I've been so impressed with these two products already, even after only trialing both a couple of times. They have definitely been worth the hype and the wait and now I cannot wait for Benefit to reveal their next new launches!

You can buy all of the They're Real range here at Boots, or here at the Benefit website. The Push Up Liner is a great £18.50 and the remover is a steal at £14.50!

Ladies and gentlemen, the eagerly awaited Push Up Liner!

Gorgeous new packaging as well!

The thinest of lines! Remover is oil enriched for easy removal!

Definitely in love with this range!
They're Real remover tackles the mascara and liner like a pro!

Review | Tanya Burr Lipgloss - Afternoon Tea*

Another gorgeous lip gloss from Tanya Burr. This week I was sent this great new shade from our favourite Youtube turned Makeup entrepreneur girly and my god, I am in love with it! It's the perfect soft pink shade that blends lovely with the skin, such a subtle nude. Once again, the formula is fantastic and it's not too sticky on the lips, always a plus! I've been in love with these lip glosses since the first time I tried one and this has not disappointed me.

You can buy this shade of lipgloss, along with others at FeelUnique or in Superdrug Stores and here.
Tanya also has a range of equally as gorgeous nail polishes which can also be bought here

Review | Benefit Dream Screen

The Sun, as we all know, can be our best friend or our worst enemy.  We all go out into the Sun, bikini's on, tan lotion on, hoping to bronze, but what we don't realise is what's actually happening with our skin. I recently learnt the hard way. I used a Sun Tan Lotion with an SPF of 30 whilst away in Ibiza on my first day. I spent the whole day under the 26 degree heat and came out with my body fried. I'm not just talking a little red here, I was full on sun burnt - lobster style. I learnt a massive lesson by not looking after myself properly and because of that now have no tan and my stomach and boobs peeling to shreds!

My face, however, was covered in Benefit's 'Dream Screen'.  This nifty new product is an amazing sun block with an SPF of 45 and that turns matte within minutes, ready for makeup application over the top. I used it every day of my holiday and never burnt once on my face - a total contrast to the rest of my poor body! The packaging of this product is the cutest as well; with the classic look of Benefit's B.Right skin care range in the light mint green with the cork-look lid, it's perfect. It's also a lovely little sized bottle, amazing for travelling and under the 100ml limit for hand luggage on an aeroplane!
For £25 for a small bottle, it may be out of some peoples price range but with how amazing this stuff is for a girl with snow white skin, like me, this stuff is beyond worth it.

Come on Benefit, make us girls a Benefit sun cream next - the rest of our body needs some lovin' as well!

You can Pick Dream Screen up here for £25

Review | The Wet Brush*

There is nothing better than finding the right kind of hair brush for your hair. I know for a good year or so now, most people have been raving non-stop about the Tangle Teezer, but for me (with my long locks) there's just no room for a Tangle Teezer in my life. They just do not work for me. For a while now myself, I've been going on and on about Denman's 'Tangle Tamer', a brush that, designed for children, works wonders on my hair. But then comes along The Wet Brush...

This big paddle brush (something I've usually stayed away from in the past) is just perfectly soft and gentle for my extremely Rapunzel-like hair. It's bristles are separated nicely with soft covered tips that match the brush's handle in colour and it seems made well enough to tackle the toughest of knots.   The best quality I look for in a brush is obviously it's ability to de-tangle my mane and this brush works wonders. Not only does it de-tangle, but it does it so smoothly that you don't even realised there was too much of a commotion to begin with. And this is only with dry hair. In the shower, this beauty work even better! It's normally quite difficult to find a good in-shower hair brush, believe me, I've tried quite a few, but this is best of them all! Especially when it comes to jumping out of the pool as this brush has no issues with gliding through Chlorine either!

Loved by many a celebrity, such as Kendall Jenner (see her Instagram for the evidence) and named America's Number 1, this brush is all you need to tame your hair and get it feeling smooth and knot free!

You can buy The Wet Brush in a variety of colours here from just £8.99!

Review | A'Kin Shampoo and Conditioner*

Your hair is something that just like your skin, can get used to products quite easily. With hair as long as mine (try the bottom of my back) I find that I have to swap up my hair products quite often to maintain the shine and 'newly washed' feel. The newest products that I have tried are from A'Kin by Purist.

A'Kin is a range that bases itself around purity. It's 'pure, safe and highly effective', with the products having been formulated to 'mimic the away had behaves naturally' but of course, with optimum results. Their products are also suitable for Vegans and they are not tested on animals - in this day and age this is such a plus for products like these.

I tested out the A'Kin Unscented Very Gentle Shampoo, which is formulated for people who have sensitive and irritated scalps (perfect for me and my dodgy burnt one). It is made of a blend of six powerful but gentle botanical cleansers which are mixed into a PH neutral unscented formula, kind to the skin! As well as looking after my scalp (I definitely noticed a huge difference in the level of irritation I had, following my shower), I also noticed how lovely and smooth it made my hair feel. This shampoo is perfect for a deep wash once a week or so - or so that's what I think - it cleans well and leaves the hair feeling amazing and soft. The packaging for this is also really great, it comes in a bottle with an easy use pump which is great for dispersing the product easily when in the shower or bath - who has time to un-cap, squeeze and then re-cap the bottle anyway?

I also got to try out the A'Kin Macadamia & Wheat Protein Conditioner which is essentially for 'dry and damaged' hair. It works an absolute charm on those pesky tangled tresses and leaves hair feeling super soft and also takes it back to its natural shiny state. I've also found that this conditioner leaves your hair smoother for longer, which for me is a godsend as many of you may know that I only wash my hair two or three times a week. The packaging for the conditioner (in size 225ml) is sadly not as great as that of the 500ml Shampoo. It's more of a rectangular bottle with no pump to ease the dispensing of the product. It's a shame really, because I think that could have worked well with this product also. I find it quite difficult to remove the product because of the tough plastic used for the bottle and am afraid I might have product waste when I can no longer get it all out.

Overall I absolutely have loved these two A'Kin hair care products and will definitely be trying some more from their range soon. You can pick up any of the A'Kin range products at their website here.

Lips Lately | MAC and Dior

For weeks I have been trying so hard to save my pennies and be good, but just before my Holiday to Ibiza last week, I caved and purchased the gorgeous MAC lipstick below. Once the shopping started, I just couldn't resist buying another whilst out in Ibiza and then when the beautiful Dior number (below) popped into my line of sight at the Duty Free shop in Ibiza airport on the way back, I just couldn't help myself... These three new beauts are my go-to lip products at the moment and I can't wait to get some more!

Coral Bliss - MAC - the most gorgeous coral orange I've ever seen!

Speak Louder - MAC - Stepping out of my comfort zone!
Mazette - Dior - A lovely mix of the two, gorgeous subtle orangey pink
Have you tried any of these shades? Let me know in the comments if you have any recommendations for more shades like these - I'm loving oranges and brights at the moment!

Review | Benefit Benebalm

As I have said many times before, there are perks to being friends with Benebabes. One of those such perks is being able to try the latest products before they are released to the public for purchase. A couple of days ago when shopping in Bristol I popped along to Boots and had a little tester session of Benefit's new products, the new Lip Balms were my favourites!

Benefit's new balms, perfect for moisturising your lips with colour!
Benefit's range of stains has been ever growing since the first ever one (Bene Tint) was first introduced when the company started. Since the days of staining Burlesque dancer's nipples to make them appear darker and more pert, Benefit has been booming and well known for their great long-lasting stains. These new balms are no different with a brilliant lasting power and the added quality of their moisturising features.

The balms are quite sheer when applied to the skin, but work up really well to give a great colour pay off. Advised that they are best when used on top of one of their famous tints (pictured below), I also gave this a go and it looked lovely. Not being one for bold colours usually, I tried out the 'Bene Balm' red balm to see if it would suit me. I absolutely love this colour and it works really well on its own too. The longevity of this product is great - really unexpected for a lip balm (I wore it for 6 hours straight and my lips were still nicely moisturised and full of colour by the end of the day). I can't wait to try out more of the colours soon.

My cheeky purchase! BeneBalm will be perfect in Ibiza

At a great price of £14.50, these balms are the best new thing to come from Benefit! I can't wait to try more of their 'They're Real' collection too, which starts with the Liner and Cleanser sowing towards the end of June! You can buy the Balms here. You can buy their tints here.

Benefit's famous Tints work really well underneath the Balms.
