1st Trimester Update, Pregnancy Symptoms & Essential Products.

I have been dying to write this blog post for so long.  To put it bluntly; I have hated the first few months of being Pregnant. I'm not going to beat around the bush and say it's been great and that I'm glowing because honestly it's been shit and I've hated pretty much every second of it. I thought I'd write this post purely because I've not been enjoying it and because to be quite honest I'd really love some feedback from any of you that are pregnant or that have gone through a pregnancy because I'd love to know that I'm not the only one that's been feeling like this. And I also because I find these blog posts / videos really interesting and I'm hoping that I can help anyone else feeling like this in the future.

As far as symptoms go I've pretty much had a shitty time of it. I understand completely that a lot of women go through much worse during their pregnancies but in my experience it really was not fun at all. Before I'd even found out that I was pregnant my moods started going a bit all over the place and to be frank, I wasn't really that nice of a person to be around; I literally would snap at anyone and anything and there was no explanation for any of it. I also noticed around this time that my boobs were growing so much - In fact thinking back now, these probably started growing from the off as soon as we'd conceived the baby because they were pretty huge throughout December too - it definitely helped with getting into a couple of boobier party dresses though!

It all started around about a week or two after I found out that I was pregnant and started off with me just feeling really run down and tired. I fell asleep so early all the time and even started having naps throughout the day which really was not like me at all and then came the nausea and sickness. I think I managed a couple of days of feeling really rough to the point of not being able to leave my bed before I actually started being sick and then it really didn't stop from there. I was sick almost every day with almost everything I ate and it got to the point of me not wanting to eat anything for fear of throwing it back up. Overall I spent about a month in bed / on the sofa not really able to do much other than being ill and sleeping. As I hit the thirteenth week and the beginning of my Second Trimester, things did start to ease off and I've only been sick once since, but the first trimester really was horrendous.

As for other symptoms I can't really think of too many. My skin has been horrendous with my face and the back of my shoulders breaking out in so many unwanted spots and I've been getting quite dull back ache, but apart from those and the sickness, I haven't really noticed too much else!

As far as products I've been loving through my first trimester, there weren't actually that many that I gravitated towards. With being in bed for the most of it, I didn't really use too many products but a couple that definitely stuck out to me had to be the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist as this was a lifesaver for making my skin feel a little bit more refreshed each day. Some days I didn't even have the energy to get into the shower (gross but true) so I used this to just spritz my face with to get a little bit of moisture in and make me feel a little more human. Another must have throughout my first couple of months as a new mama to be has to be the Origins Clear improvement Charcoal Mask as my skin has broken out so much from all of the new baby hormones and it's literally been like a dot-to-dot on my face. This face mask is one that I've used for the past year and absolutely swear by and it's been helping me clear up my pores and diminish my spots perfectly during this pregnancy. I'm still using it now in my second trimester and can't see myself stopping anytime soon.

I haven't been using any bump butter or oils as the smells have really made me feel worse, but I've started this past week and so will be able to tell you about more of those in my next update post hopefully. I'd love to write a few more of these update posts as  I go through my pregnancy, so do let me know if there's anything that you would like to see from me and also how frequently you'd like to see the posts too. This is my first time through and I'm a little nervy about it all, but couldn't be happier to share and discuss my journey! I'd love to hear from you in the comments about any recommendations that you have or any of your experiences.
