February Favourites 2017

I have not written a favourites post on this blog in a hot minute. In fact I think it's been around 9 months since my last blog post devoted to telling you products I was loving at that time. And that I apologise for. I'm a massive lover of favourites posts, mostly because I'm extremely nosey, but also because I just love seeing what's new out there and a good ol' favourites post is usually where you'd find that information. February has been the month of new products for me and there's been so many that I'm trying and so many that I'm yet still to try, but these are a couple that have really stuck out to me this month.
I think the star of the show this month has to be my new Urban Decay Naked Basics Ultimate palette, one that I've obviously had my heart set on since it was announced, but one that I only managed to get this month. And it's everything I could have dreamed that it would be; 12, creamy, buttery matte shades in the most gorgeous nude colours. They blend extremely well, the pigmentation is just as good as any of it's predecessors and the colours are just beautiful, as expected. I've been able to create so many lovely looks with this palette already and I can't wait to keep having a play around with it to see what else I can come up with. Next up is the new Clarins Contour Kit - something that I've been meaning to talk about for over two months now, but with the news that you may have seen in my last 'we have something to tell you' blog post, I've been a bit out of the blogging game. This contour kit is absolutely stunning; I don't think there's really any other way to describe it. It has everything you'd want from a compact palette, making it easy to travel with or just keep in your makeup bag as a 'one stop shop' for all of your face sculpting needs. The bronzer in this palette is nothing short of gorgeous; it's the perfect shade for my skin tone and seems like it can be easily built up to suit most complexions. I've loved using this in the hollows of my cheeks for that contoured appearance and also for dusting over my temples and under my jaw line to warm up my face a little too. The highlight is also breathtaking, it's got a lovely natural colour to it and helps glow up my face like no tomorrow when applied with a small fluffy brush. I've found again that it's perfect for my skin tone and just looks gorgeous along size the bronzer. Now, as you may know, I'm not much of a blusher girl, so I haven't tried this one out too much, but for the days where I am feeling like I want to look a little rosy and flushed, this colour is just lovely for a light dusting on the apples of my cheeks! This palette is just perfect for on the go and for an everyday routine and it's something that I've been loving using this month! Last but by no means least on the makeup side of things, I've been absolutely loving the Armani Light Master Primer as a quick base before applying my foundation. I have to admit, I've not really found it that great for making my makeup last all that much longer, but it does give me such a flawless base on which to apply my makeup which is what has really sold it for me! This is definitely more on the pricier side at £38 for 30ml, but it's definitely one of those products that I think I will repurchase when it comes to that time because of how radiant I feel it makes my skin and how nice it is to apply makeup on top. Skincare wise, I've been trying quite a few new things over the last week or so, but for the majority of February the main two products that I've been trying new have really wowed me. The Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate is something that I'd wanted to try for a very long time now, I was recommended it by everyone and their Mum's and I couldn't wait any longer and just had to purchase it. Since using a couple of drops of this every evening after my usual skincare routine, I've seen a massive difference in not only any blemishes that I've had (thank you pregnancy hormones) but also in my skin in general. I feel like this has just evened out my skin tone so much and my face appears so radiant and revived! It really is such a miracle worker and I love applying it each night before bed. Again, at £38, it's not the cheapest of products but if you are wanting to give your skin some well deserved TLC, then this is going to be the one thing I recommend. You barely use any product each time and I can tell it's going to last a really long time. The Second skincare newbie that I've been loving this past month has been the Garnier Moisture Bomb sheet face mask; not usually one for sheet masks I was a bit sceptical at first, but have found that this one is just perfect for soaking my face and reviving it of the moisture it's been missing. Lately my skin has been quite troublesome because my hormones are all up in the air and so I've (unintentionally) been drying out my skin with all of the acne products I've been using. This moisture bomb face mask has been the perfect resolution to kick starting my skin's hydration again, however I have noticed it does irritate me a little around the eyes so I have just been a little wary when applying it! At £1.50 each these are an absolute steal (especially compared to the Sephora ones which I personally don't really rate) and I just love how they've been making my skin feel. One Skincare product that I've had for quite some time now but have never fully appreciated is the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist , as I've been feeling quite ill recently I've loved just spritzing this onto my face for a refresh whenever I've felt like I've needed it. It wakes me up and just makes my skin feel like it's alive instead of all sicky and lifeless; it's definitely been a first trimester must have for me!Another couple of faves this month have got to be my new Armani Si Perfume; now I must admit I'm actually ridiculous at describing scents, so I won't bother - but just know that this perfume is bloody devine. I've wanted to try this for so long, knowing that it's so many peoples favourite, but just hadn't gotten around to it. It's pretty steep at £72 for 50ml, but with a couple of vouchers and discount I felt comfortable splashing the cash on this because it's just so beautiful and I'd definitely urge you to go and check it out for yourself and maybe add it to a birthday / Christmas list! Up next is this gorgeous pendant from www.Larimarbliss.com that I've been wearing on just a simple silver chain. It's not my usual style but has been unique enough to pair with a simple outfit and really have a statement piece to wear and it's just really beautiful. The Larimar range is really gorgeous all around and I've got my eye on a few of their rings now too. I'm really trying to get into my jewelry more and this piece has been perfect for me as a simple yet statement necklace. Last but by no means least in this super long blog post (I do apologise for this), Is my beloved MAC 217 fluffy blending brush. It's been a favourite of mine for years now but this month I've found myself using it loads (I actually have three of these beautiful things) and it's just been the perfect brush for an all over smokey eye. If they weren't so bloody expensive I'd have loads more! Anyway! I think this has been the longest post I've ever written so I'm going to end it here, but I hope you've liked my ramblings anyway! If you've had any favourites throughout the month that you think I should try out, let me know in the comments below!
